Texas Latin Radio

Live radio, shows, podcasts and events for the Latino community in Texas — one platform, in both languages.

Radio station home page: a live player with an animated waveform and the track currently on air, above a 24/7 music panel and the on-air schedule.

AThe problem

A radio station reaching the Latino community across Texas needs more than an audio stream. Listeners want the schedule and the archive; advertisers and on-air talent need somewhere obvious to get in touch; and all of it has to work in Spanish and English, on a phone, while something is already playing.

BWhat we built

A multimedia platform rather than a station website: continuous live audio with a persistent player, shows and podcasts on demand, a published schedule, and direct routes for advertisers and for people who want to be on the air.

CSignature pieces

The parts worth looking at.

  1. 01

    A player that keeps playing

Live audio with an animated waveform and the current track credited on screen, running continuously while the rest of the site is browsed.

  2. 02

Live radio and on-demand in one place

The 24/7 stream, the show schedule and the podcast archive sit together, so a listener who arrives between shows still has something to press.

  3. 03

    Two audiences, two doors

Separate, explicit routes for advertisers wanting to reach the Latino community in Texas and for talent wanting airtime — the two things a station actually needs from a website.

  4. 04

    Bilingual by default

Spanish and English throughout, for an audience that moves between both in the same sentence.

GStill to supply

  • [TODO-DUEÑO] The brief for this one was never written down: what the station needed, what existed before, and what was actually delivered. Everything above is drawn from the live site.
  • [TODO-DUEÑO] Confirm the stack — Next.js and React are detectable from the page, the rest is not.
  • [TODO-DUEÑO] The companion app: what it does, which platforms, and whether it can be shown.
  • [TODO-DUEÑO] A capture of the app, if it should appear here.
